White Stork

With the re-introduction programme at the nearby Knepp Re-wilding Project, we are definitely going to see more of the biggest of the white birds, the White Stork. Already during autumn, we are seeing flocks of 20+ cruising over the parish following their migratory instincts and a few people have reported similar numbers feeding in the fields around Betley Bridge. When standing it is a big white bird with very obvious black wing tips and has a long red dagger-like beak with long red legs. In flight, you can clearly see the black wing tips.
